Job Opportunity: Khulumani Programme Support Officer

Khulumani Support Group seeks to appoint a Programme Support Officer for our national office in Johannesburg.

Khulumani Support Group is a Community-Based Membership Organisation with branches in all provinces.

Opportunity closing date: Wednesday, 22 July, 2015

Responsibilities

  • Support organisational development capacity-building objectives
  • Provide support to local groups for project planning and implementation
  • Facilitate participatory monitoring and evaluation, reflection & feedback on projects
  • Contribute to ongoing resource mobilisation efforts
  • Represent Khulumani in network meetings as required
  • Support organisational advocacy objectives
  • Contribute to effective running of the National Contact Centre

Requirements:

  • Qualification in Development and/or Social Science
  • A passion for community-driven development
  • Some experience of project management
  • Background / interest in transitional justice and in trauma recovery / mental health  
  • An interest in paralegal issues and access to justice
  • Other skills 
    • Computer skills
    • Excellent human relationship skills 
    • Good communication skills
    • Willingness to learn
    • Strong work ethic and ability to prioritize and multi-task
    • Ability to communicate fluently in English and at least one other South African language
    • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
    • Ability to work well in a team as well as individually
