Daimler rejected allegations of complicity with the former apartheid regime, a spokeswoman said yesterday, calling the charges “inadmissible and unfounded”. A New York court is to consider a case brought by a human rights group against Daimler, IBM, Ford, General Motors and German industrial and defence group RheinMetall. Daimler felt US authorities had no jurisdiction in the case, she said.
