On August 3, 2007, 22 widows who are members of our Evaton Khulumani group, dressed themselves in black and commissioned a taxi to travel to Pretoria to the office of Minister Thoko Didiza.
On August 3, 2007, 22 widows who are members of our Evaton Khulumani group, dressed themselves in black and commissioned a taxi to travel to Pretoria to the office of Minister Thoko Didiza.
They sat in the Minister’s office and when she came out to see them, they requested that she come to meet with them at Small Farms in Evaton in the Vaal. Mrs Didiza agreed to come to spend the day with the group on August 10, 2007 and agreed to organise to bring the Director-Generals from 3 government departments with her – the Department of Home Affairs to assist them with securing birth certificates and identity documents for local people, the Department of Social Development; and the Department of Safety and Security.
