A Khulumani Appreciation for the Support and Solidarity we have received during 2012 –

Thank you for your loving support for Khulumani in our shared journey of remaking the world in which we live…

Thank you for your loving support for Khulumani in our shared journey of remaking the world in which we live – a world in need of our open hearts and our vision for building new forms of human community and solidarity, for building a more just and inclusive society, for telling our stories with love.

Dennis Brutus, Khulumani International Lawsuit Plaintiff, continues to inspire us with the poem he wrote in February 2009 entitled

Guernica, Shatila, Sharpeville, Gaza

Horror is all around us:
Death, destruction, mashed corpses,
It is all around us; commonplace
Astonishing, humanity erupts
Such virulent excess against humanity
There is no limit to our ingenuity
In the service of torture carnage;
Astonishingly, too, we have levels
Of pity, mercy, goodness;
Devices to repair injury;
Miraculously, somewhere, we have compassion

It is compassion that calls us to “go courageously to the source … to try to hold people accountable … (to) boldly bring out the truth and not let it be a casualty… to strengthen those institutions and those people that are trying to help build houses of justice in Africa”. (Ben Freeth).

Thank you for your loving support for Khulumani in our shared journey of remaking the world in which we live – a world in need of our open hearts and our vision for building new forms of human community and solidarity, for building a more just and inclusive society, for telling our stories with love.
